This reminds me of the nonstop commentary when George Bush puked in Japan after some bad fish. Round the clock coverage. This is worse though, since it's so banal one can't even laugh at it.

Senior Bush was held in a POW camp where the guards allegedly ate humans. At least he has a legitimate excuse to feel sick hearing, "itadakimasu."

Also the time he refused to eat Brocolli and had it taken off the White House menu. God I miss that guy.

Great post. TDS is so off the charts. I value every second that I spend not hearing about the president. These are usually spent alone.

I do not have strong feelings about the pool

I think these stories gain so much traction and commentary because they’re about things people understand. The Left tends to glom on to these frivolous debates while they’ll ignore billions blown on hospice care fraud or obvious insider trading among legislators because it’s easier to imagine a dirty pool not being sufficiently cleaned than some complex system of deception and incompetence wreaking havoc in a community.

And it’ll only get worse. As our minds contract ever more and our imaginations become ever weaker, expect to see more such stories. It’s all our feeble intellects are capable of conjuring these days.

I think it’s kind of symbolic. Trying to keep a stagnant pool of water completely free of plant and animal life is a Sisyphean task. I guess it’s symbolic of the stupidity of trying to force nature into an unnatural state, or something to that effect. They should populate it with fish and lily pads. Dock little boats on the sides and let people pay a few bucks to paddle around in it. The clean dead pool concept is so stupid.
